Rob Lowe sober 25 years, gives new hope to others struggling with addiction.
The star was well known for his womanizing ways and his heavy drinking and drug use during his youth, but he managed to kick the habits in 1990.
Lowe has since revisited his highs and lows in his 2011 autobiography, “Stories I Only Tell My Friends,” and its follow-up, “Love Life,” and this weekend, he shared a few words of advice for others trying to overcome addiction issues.
Taking to Twitter, the 51 year old wrote, “To those struggling with addiction, there is true, real, hope. Twenty-five years ago today, I found recovery and a life of promise. #Grateful.”

He went on to give special thanks to his wife, Sheryl Berkoff, who he wed in 1991, as the anniversary of his sobriety fell on Mother’s Day.
