Robert Herjavec, Kym Johnson spotted kissing in Palm Springs.
It’s official. “Shark Tank” investor and entrepreneur Robert Herjavec and Kym Johnson are definitely a couple. The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestants were spotted kissing while vacationing together in Palm Springs this past weekend, shortly after the 51-year-old Canadian businessman and Johnson were eliminated from the competitive dance show on May 5.
The pair has been inseparable since “Dancing with the Stars” began its 20th season, Entertainment Tonight reported on May 6. Their relationship remained unconfirmed for the duration of this season.
During his last appearance on the show, Herjavec can be seen telling his 38-year-old partner “I love you” during rehearsals. While the two remained tight-lipped about their possible romance for months, Herjavec confirmed to People magazine on March 18 that he had split from his wife of 24 years.
“It’s been a terribly difficult year,” he said, adding that there were times when he felt so depressed he’d considered suicide. “We were great parents and a great team, but over time we drifted apart.”
When asked about the possible romance with Johnson by host Tom Bergeron on May 6, Herjavec sidestepped the question. “I’ve known Kym, we’ve been friends for years, and Robert, you may not have won the Mirror Ball trophy but I’m suspecting you’ve won someone’s heart,” Bergeron said.
“Tom, I’m not sure I feel that way about you,” the businessman replied.
Entertainment Tonight discussed the couple’s relationship with members of the cast on Monday. Cast member Derek Hough, 29, was especially excited for Herjavec and Johnson.
“I think it was instant,” Hough said. “When I found out they were dancing together I was like, first of all, that’s the man of her dreams. The fact that he felt the same about her — I couldn’t be happier for them.”
Judge and choreographer Carrie Ann Inaba, 47, added that their romance was like a fairy tale. “I think that they are incredible,” she said. “When they danced together their chemistry was so exciting.”
