A western-localised version of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII will be heading to PCs via Steam on 5 July this year. According to Koei, this is the end of an eight year hiatus.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII is being developed to celebrate the franchise’s 30th anniversary. The game will feature a Campaign mode that will allow players the freedom to choose their starting year as well as the ability to customize the board to their liking. An in-depth tutorial mode, called Hero mode, will also be included and will follow historical events of China in addition to teaching the player Romance of the Three Kingdoms’ intricate mechanics.
Players will also be able to enjoy “nearly endless” customization choices in the game, giving you the option to take arms as one of 700 historical figures, including fan-favorites Zhao Yun, Liu Bei, Cao Cao, and more, or create your own unique character.
Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII will launch in North America on July 5, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
