Room won big at the Canadian Screen Awards – winning nine gongs at the film event.
The movie, which was a co-production between the Irish and Canadian film boards, also picked up the award for Best Motion Picture, Best Director for Lenny Abrahamson and Best Adapted Screenplay for Emma Donoghue.
The Canada UK Ireland co-production “Brooklyn” scored wins for Best Cinematography and Original Score.
Space’s clone drama “Orphan Black” dominated with seven wins, including Best Actress and Actor trophies.
The TV show “Schitt’s Creek” was crowned the top TV comedy and claimed nine wins overall including acting prizes for both Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. Levy thanked his son Dan Levy, a best actor rival and his co-creator on the sitcom.
