Samsung’s much-anticipated 360-degree camera, the Gear 360, has now been listed online by B&H Photo Video, giving us our first look at its pricing. According to device’s product page, the Samsung Gear 360 will be available for purchase at $349.99, although it’s currently listed as ‘Out of Stock’.
The Samsung Gear 360 fairly stole the show at Mobile World Congress 2016. That’s not just because it seems like a very capable 360 degree camera which is perfect for creating virtual reality content but also because it’s really rather cute.
More than a month on and there still hasn’t been any update on when we’re going to get our hands on this teeny little camera. Samsung previously said it was aiming for summer time 2016 and that’s rapidly approaching. Now we’ve finally got a little more information, including a price.
The photo-friendly folks over at B&H have the camera listed on their site, and briefly also included a price before it was taken down. That list cost was said to be $349.99.
Given the presence of two ultra wide angle lenses, 30 megapixel still images, f2.0 aperture and dinky little screen and buttons for fingers-on control, the high cost isn’t particularly surprising. This little device, together with a Samsung Galaxy S7 phone, is also capable of stitching together 360 degree video on the fly, which is pretty impressive. Still it’s a lot to lay out for a new camera, almost as much as the highest end GoPros around, and considerably less sturdy.
Not bad for such an innovative camera, isn’t it? Here’s what you get in a nutshell with the Gear 360:

- 30MP Still Images in Dual Lens Mode
