She joins Kristen Bell and Hunter Parrish in the Adam Shankman-directed musical
Sarah Hyland is going to spend three days in August singing on stage for a lot of people.
The “Modern Family” star has joined the cast of the Hollywood Bowl production of “Hair,” it was announced on Friday, and will play the role of Chrissy. She has some stage experience already, having played Jackie Bouvier in the Broadway staging of “Grey Gardens.”
Walker, who starred on Broadway in “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” and last year’s revival of “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,” will play Berger.
The ensemble cast will also include pop singer Mario, Jonah Platt and Kevin Chamberlin.
“Hair” debuted at New York’s Public Theater in 1967. It opened on Broadway the following year, running through 1972. The Public mounted a well-received revival of the musical in Central Park in 2008 and later took it to Broadway.
