Mariah Carey’s former security guard has accused the singer of sexual harassment and racism, TMZ report.
Michael Anello, who worked for Carey between June 2015 and May 2017, claims the ‘Emotions’ singer committed “sexual acts with the intent that they be viewed by” him.
These accusations appear to consist of Carey apparently sexually harassing him while he was doing his job, describing an incident in Cabo San Lucas in which the diva requested Anello to come to her room to move some luggage. When he arrived, she was allegedly wearing a see-through, undone negligee. He said that he tried to leave but that she insisted he move the cases. He says that no physical contact took place.
Annello also alleges that Carey referred to him and some of his colleagues as members of various hate groups including a “Nazi, a skinhead, a KKK member and a white supremacist,” and claims she said that she “wanted to be surrounded with black guys, not white people”.
Additionally, Anello is planning to sue Mariah over an unpaid invoice for security his company provided to her, totalling $220,000. Furthermore, he is claiming he was promised payment for two further years of work, for $511,000 on top of that sum.
Representatives for Carey responded to TMZ the same day, saying that while they were in contact with Anello’s lawyers regarding the money, they had no information on the sexual harassment claim.
47 year old Mariah is currently in rehearsals for her upcoming All I Want For Christmas is You tour, which kicks off in Ontario, Canada on November 17th.
