Funeral services for a Mendota Heights police officer shot and killed while making a traffic stop earlier this week were announced Friday afternoon, according to the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.
Services for Scott Patrick will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in West St. Paul. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m.
Scott Patrick was fatally shot during a traffic stop in West St. Paul this week. The 19-year police veteran leaves behind a wife and two teenage children.
Prosecutors on Friday charged suspect Brian George Fitch Sr. with first-degree murder in Patrick’s death. Fitch was arrested after he was shot by police following a manhunt.
Patrick is the first officer killed in the line of duty in the history of the Mendota Heights Police Department.
