Country music veteran Willie Nelson has been reunited with his stuffed armadillo mascot after it went missing following a concert in Las Vegas on Monday (31Mar14).
Officials at the Westin Lake Las Vegas resort in Henderson Ol’ Dillo, vanished while audience members were greeting Nelson after a concert Monday night.
Westin marketing director Matt Boland says Nelson’s crew called in the middle of the night from the road, asking the resort to scour surveillance footage after the mascot turned up missing.
Boland says he was outside the hotel Tuesday morning when an apologetic man drove up and handed him a shoebox and instructions to return it to Nelson.
Boland says the armadillo was inside and has been sent to the singer in California.
It’s not the first time the armadillo has been abducted.
In September 2013, Ol’ Dillo was swiped after a show in suburban New York.
A video showed a woman snatching the armadillo, and later a different woman returned the stuffed toy to the theater’s box office in a sealed box.
