Son killed mother in argument over college grades.
A 22-year-old Alabama man is accused of killing his mother after they had an argument about his grades.
After Tyler Ryan Blansit called deputies to his mother’s home in Mentone on May 29, officers found Sherry Ann Blansit’s body in the back yard, officials said.
Authorities determined that the 45-year-old woman died of blunt force trauma, with the weapon being a baseball bat, Mentone Police Chief Brad Gregg said.
Investigators said Blansit had scratches on his body when they met him at the scene.
Blansit, a student at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, allegedly confessed to killing his mother after they got into an argument over grades, DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris said.
Blansit was charged with murder and remains at the DeKalb County Detention Center without bail.
