The 49-year-old rocker and her 20-year-old child with late rocker Kurt Cobain, have had a decidedly tumultuous few years. But Love says their relationship is now one of, well, love. “I’m talking to her a lot which is great,” the Hole frontwoman says. “It is good to have her on my speed dial.”
Recently Frances has gone to great lengths to put distance between herself and her mother, who has a history of drug abuse. In 2009 Frances, then 17, successfully petitioned the courts to be removed from her mother’s custody and even obtained a restraining order, prompting Love to call her daughter “deluded” on Facebook.
The two have been engaged in a public battle online ever since. Last year Love took to Twitter to accuse fellow rocker and former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl of seducing Frances, who responded by urging the website to delete her mother’s account.
Meanwhile Love may ruffle a few feathers in Hollywood with her upcoming tell-all memoir. But despite her history of high-profile partners, also including Brit comic Steve Coogan and actor Edward Norton – her story won’t be a kiss-and-tell.
Speaking to People magazine, Love describes the book as “lots of shenanigans with fun movie stars. It’s a memoir without much sex in it. You’d think I was the Virgin Mary reading it.” Hmm. Perhaps it’s not too late to have it rebranded as fiction?
