Stolen vehicle sought following hit and run, Edmonton police

Cops are investigating after a stolen silver Jeep Wrangler hit a delivery driver and tried to take off on Sunday morning.

EPS say the incident took place on Henry Avenue, near Hermitage Road, at around 6 Sunday morning.

A man left his car running as he made some door to door deliveries, and that’s when a youth jumped out of a silver 2013 Jeep Wrangler and allegedly attempted to steal the running car.

The man went back to his car, and a short altercation took place, before the Jeep, carrying 3 other people, hit both men and the car.

Both men only suffered minor injuries and the youth is now in custody, but no charges have been laid yet.

Police say the Jeep has black rims, and will likely have damage on the front and back of the passenger side.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Edmonton Police Service at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.tipsubmit.com/start.htm.
