A Manchester University student had to be rescued by firefighters after he got stuck inside a roadside bin on a night out.
Robin Niven was on his way home from a night out in Manchester and spotted the front hatch open on a bin on the pavement.
He climbed in and his mates slammed the door shut behind him, only for it to lock automatically.
Unable to free him, the University of Manchester students phoned the fire brigade, then filmed his dramatic rescue.
A fire crew arrived and used a special tool to simply turn the lock on the bin and end Robin’s half-hour incarceration. He was so relieved (and drunk) he hugged his rescuers and flopped to the floor.
