A vehicle stuck in a snowbank blocking the entrance to the car wash prompted a call to Barrie police Saturday.
When officers arrived at the Bayfield Street car wash at approximately 7:30 p.m., police say they found a man passed out in the driver’s seat with the engine running and the vehicle still in gear.
Police woke up the sleeping man and determined he was extremely intoxicated.
They also discovered he had been involved in a minor fender-bender and had fled the scene before arriving at the car wash.
The 30-year-old Barrie man was taken to the police station where he blew more than four times the legal limit.
He was charged with impaired, over 80 mgs, and driving while license is suspended.
He was released with a future court date.
