Thief gets knocked out when a brick bounces off the car he’s trying to rob.
Having used a smaller stone to try and shatter the passenger-side window of the white Mercedes in Drogheda, Ireland, he returned with the heavier brick.
But he was struck stone cold when it came back off the glass and struck him in the face.
To compound his car-ma, the owner of the car then arrived on the scene and found him lying in a pool of blood.
“When I saw him, he was lying there stone cold on the ground and his face was in ribbons,” pub owner Gerry Brady told the Irish Independent.
He and his fiancée initially suspected he had been attacked but the thief then attempted to blackmail him.
“He pulled himself up and said he wanted €50 for a taxi,” said Brady.
“I said, ‘Not a chance, I’ve to pay for a new window, mate.
“That’s when he leaned in and told me he’d burn me out of the pub.”
The man added to Brady: “I see you, I know you. I’ll burn you out. I’ll tell the gardas (police) you beat me up. I’ll go to my solicitor.”
Brady called the police from a nearby petrol station – and the cops could not believe what they found when they pulled up the CCTV footage.
“You should have heard (them) laughing when they saw the video,” Brady said.
“They were in stitches.”
