Trucker saves woman, child From Fiery Crash (Video)

A United States truckie is being hailed as a hero after pulling a grandmother and a 1-year-old from a flaming car wreck.

The pair were travelling in a Lincoln Town Car in Mississippi on August 11 when their car struck the fuel tank of a truck and burst into flames.

The trucker’s name is David Fredrickson, and he witnessed a Lincoln Town Car fail to yield while merging into traffic.

You can see the car collide into another semi-truck’s gas tank – igniting flames.

When other nearby drivers stayed their distance, Fredrickson ran in to help, using a fire extinguisher and hoping that the folks inside were still alive.

“Originally I thought the car was going in the wrong direction because – in the video you can’t see – but I could see the front end of the car,” he told Fox News on Tuesday morning.

He found a grandma and small child inside. They were alive, but time was running out.

“She said she couldn’t walk,” he told Fox News. “She said her ankle or leg was broken. Two other truck drivers came over to help her off the side of the road.”

The video, apparently posted by Fredrickson’s son on YouTube, has been viewed nearly 1 million times.
