Residents in Monroe County are left in shock after a domestic dispute on Friday that began over divorce papers and escalated into gunshots, leaving two women injured and two men dead.
Monroe County sheriff Cecil Cantrell told the Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal that Sudduth went to his in-laws’ house Friday to get his children for an agreed-on weekend.
Cantrell said the Sudduths argued outside and he reportedly choked his wife, who went in and told her father. Cantrell says Mize came out with a gun.
Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley estimates that each man was shot at least six times.
Janice Mize was released Saturday from a hospital where Jennifer Sudduth was listed in good condition.
