Vicki Gardner, the woman who survived a shooting while being interviewed on WDBJ, says she feared she was going to be shot in the head.
Vicki Gardner detailed her memory of the shooting to Fox News host Greta Van Susteren in an interview that aired Tuesday night on “On The Record.”
She said that she noticed “movement” during the live shot, and said that the shooting then took place very quickly. Gardner added that the shooter was “very silent.” She also explained that she made a quick decision to drop to the ground and play dead, after which she was shot in the back.
Two journalists, Alison Parker and Adam Ward, were killed in the August shooting.
“My heart just goes out to Alison and Adam, and they’re so young. Why save me and take them?” Gardner said.
