Internet addicts will soon be able to surf the web from the back seat of Vancouver’s Yellow Cabs.
Telus says this would be the first time WiFi is offered for free in taxis anywhere in the country.
According to Telus, it’s expected to take about six weeks for all the vehicles to be equipped.
Taxi users are told to look for Yellow Cabs with a Telus logo pasted on the outside.
“The WiFi will be free to users regardless of their mobile or Internet provider,” Telus said.
“No passwords are required and no personal information will be collected.”
Telus, which also earlier equipped three TransLink buses with free WiFi access, was also recently announced as the supplier of 43 public WiFi hubs at facilities around the city.
