Microsoft released its latest Windows 10 Mobile preview build on Nov. 18, and users who are on both fast and slow ring of Windows Insiders can now avail of the update. It carries the build number 10586 and is said to be the RTM version of the Windows 10 Mobile OS.
The Windows 10 Mobile preview build 10586 is almost a final product as it comes with plenty of bug fixes for the issues that came along with previous build of 10581. Hence it does not come with new features. It is recommended to carry out a backup and then install the preview build, Venture Beat reported.
The 10586 build will fix the garbled Start screen problem that surfaced with the previous update. The default location for storage can now be modified through Settings > System > Storage. The loading and resuming screen delay has been resolved. Storing apps on the microSD slot does not result in app crashing. The Messaging + Skype app has been improved. The Windows Store has now become all the more stable for downloading apps and games.
Apart from the newly released Lumia 950, 950 XL and Lumia 550 handsets, no other handsets come with out-of-the-box Windows 10 Mobile OS. For PC users, the Redmond giant had released the Windows 10 OS in July. However, it is yet to release the final build of Windows 10 Mobile OS. It is expected to be available in the next month.
According to The Verge, all the Windows Lumia devices that feature 8 GB of native storage and are currently running on Lumia Denim can be upgraded to Windows 10 Mobile. However, it is likely that depending on hardware configuration some of the handsets may not support all the Windows 10 mobile features.
Microsoft has also been working on a Windows 10 Mobile ROM for Android devices. The idea is to let owners of Android devices try the Windows 10 Mobile ROM and eventually switch to the mobile OS from Microsoft. Speculations are rife that the Windows 10 Mobile ROM for Xiaomi Mi 4 and other Android devices will be available in the next week, Neowin reported.
