One dead, part of Hwy 17 closed after truck loses load of logs

One person is dead after a serious crash on Highway 17 near Pembroke, Ont.

A truck was exiting a construction zone near Highway 41 around 7 a.m. on Monday when it crashed into a westbound vehicle.

The man, whose age and identity has not been released, was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics.

The highway was expected to remain closed in both directions for the rest of the day.

Ontario Provincial Police have set up detours for both westbound and eastbound traffic.
