Richard Simmons Missing? Star says he’s working out his issues.
Following a report Thursday claiming he is suffering from a deep depression that has essentially made him a shut-in, the exercise guru took to Facebook to say he’s been having a “tough time” dealing with an injury but avoided all mention of the word depression.

“I am so touched by the outpouring of love and concern I have received today,” Simmons wrote. “I have had a tough time dealing with this injury, as it is keeping me from doing what I truly love to do, and that is to teach classes around the world. Keep on sweatin’!”

TMZ previously reported that Simmons was depressed over the knee injury. He stopped coming to his studio Slimmons in Beverly Hills where he regularly taught classes, and was last seen in public at a charity event in January. Simmons, who had a right knee replacement surgery a few years ago, reportedly needed another surgery for the other leg because other treatments didn’t work.

Simmons’ manager Michael Catalano has also confirmed that his disappearance was due to the injury, but did not share more info regarding his health. “Richard Simmons has been sidelined with a knee injury for the past several months,” Catalano said.

“Bewitched” actress Erin Murphy has also expressed her concern in a recent Twitter post. “Thinking about my pal Richard Simmons, who isn’t doing too well,” she wrote on November 12.
