Rolling Stones Cancel Australia, New Zealand Tour After L’Wren Scott’s Death

The Rolling Stones have called off their tour of Australia and New Zealand following the death of singer Mick Jagger’s girlfriend L’Wren Scott in Manhattan, a statement from the group’s publicist said today.

Scott was found hanged on Monday, on the same day that Jagger arrived in Perth for a tour of Australia and New Zealand.

A spokesman for the singer said he was “completely shocked and devastated by the news,” and that the Perth concert was canceled.

Scott, 49, hung herself, and was discovered by her assistant at her apartment on 11th Avenue about 10 a.m.

Meanwhile, tributes to Scott poured in from across the worlds of fashion and celebrity.
Jagger’s first wife, Bianca, said she was “heartbroken to learn of the loss of the lovely and talented L’Wren Scott. My thoughts and prayers are with her family,” The Guardian reported.

“You’ll forever be missed,” American fashion designer Marc Jacobs said.
Jagger was in Australia for the sold-out “Rolling Stones On Fire” tour, which was to begin in Perth on Wednesday.

Organizers said no further information was available for other concerts in other Australian cities and New Zealand.

“No further information is available at this time and ticket holders are asked to hold on to their tickets until a further update,” they said in a statement.
