Human remains being investigated by police at a Salmon Arm-area farm belong to missing teenager Traci Genereaux, her grieving family confirmed Wednesday.
No charges have been laid in connection with Genereaux’s death and an autopsy has been completed, but the results are not being released.
“Now that the identification has been confirmed, the RCMP are once again seeking the public’s assistance in any information that can help advance the investigation into the disappearance and death of Traci Genereaux,” said Cpl Dan Moskaluk.
The family was notified today along with all other families that have been publicly linked to the on-going investigation.
“Given the size of the 24 acre property, the number of out buildings and various items at this location, additional resources and equipment have been brought in order to conduct a thorough search of this property in the most efficient manner,” said Moskaluk.
Genereaux was last heard from in Vernon and RCMP are asking people with information about her activities leading up May 29 to contact them at 1-877-987-8477.
Police said Genereaux was four-foot-11, 95 lbs, had brown hair and blue eyes.
