Snow plow operator accused of drunk driving

A snowplow driving erratically on Highway 11 near Gravenhurst drew the attention of a concerned motorist who called police.

The OPP say they were contacted on Saturday, at around 7:30 p.m. over concerns about the driving behaviour of a snow plow on Highway 11, near Doe Lake Road.

Officers were called to the area and found the snow plow, at around 8 p.m. in a ditch on Winhara Road in Gravenhurst.

The driver, a 44-year-old Huntsville man, has been charged with impaired care and control of a motor vehicle, over 80 care and control, and having care and control of a motor vehicle with an open container of liquor. The accused had his licence suspended for 90 days.

The accused will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on Jan. 12.
